Michael Shepherd Band - "II" Album ReleaseConcert
The Michael Shepherd Band will release their brand new, second album entitled "II" at the Club of the Rockhal on 12 April. To memorialize this special evening, Skincrack and The Strawberries, will share the stage with MSB and rock the crowd.
Hailing from the heart of Europe comes a classic rock band that could have emerged as well from London town or cities like Detroit and Los Angeles, the Michael Shepherd Band.
How much still needs to be said about a band that has toured both the local circuit and neighboring countries for the past 15 years?
Their first record, simply titled "MSB" was released in 2002. Among the mix of rockers, ballads and heavier songs, it also contained their signature rocker "Pick Up The Pieces" and "Only the Blues", a local hit in 2003.
Now they’re back with their second album, titled "II". 2013 marks the final change to a fully-fledged classic rock band in the vein of Whitesnake, Journey and Bad Company. While their seventies influences of the likes of Free, Thin Lizzy and Lynyrd Skynyrd still echo in their sound, the songs now range from stadium and radio anthems (without the hair) to raunchy rockers with epic ballads thrown in for good measure, just like grunge never happened... Rock is back!
Released on iTunes on 24 January 2013, the first single "This Time Around" sets the pace for an album that celebrates classic rock, a time when hard rock ruled the airwaves and a new TV channel called MTV was just about to take off. It was a time when "Rock Of Ages" was a song and not a musical, guitar solos became the religion of a new breed of guitar heroes that changed rock music forever while vocalists such as Paul Rodgers, Steve Perry, David Coverdale, and Ronnie James Dio were setting the bar pretty high for any future legends.
